A Creamware Teapot made by William Greatbatch of Lower Lane Fenton Staffordshire England ,it is unusual to see a handle of this type on a Greatbatch” Prodigal Son” teapot, on each side of the teapot there is a black printed out lined scenes of “The Prodigal Son Receives his Patrimony” & “The Prodigal Son Taking Leave” which after the teapot has been fired  then hand painted coloured translucent glazes in Red green, puce and yellow is applied to highlight the jackets etc, the print can still be seen through the thinly painted translucent enamel glazes  .
