A Staffordshire hollow based portrait figure of the Scottish historian, poet, novelist and biographer, Sir Walter Scott, (1771-1832) and his favourite dog, Maida.
Sir Walter Scott was generally credited as the inventor of the historical novel and many of his novels and narrative poems are still regarded as classics of romantic literature. Two of his most famous novels are Ivanhoe (1819) and The Bride of Lammermoor (1819)

Condition; just a small amount of black paint flakes touched in and a fine hairline crack in the front of the base.
