A Kent Staffordshire bust of John Locke, the Philosopher and Physician (1632-1704) on a marbelised base .
John Locke was widely regarded as one of the most influential of enlightenment thinkers and was commonly know as the ‘father of liberalism’ He argued that people have rights, such as a right to life, liberty and property and was often credited as a founder of modern ‘liberal’ thought.
